Detroit Mercy’s transfer options allows for full time or part time flexibility. Pre-requisite courses must be satisfied before the beginning of the program.

Already have a Bachelor degree and are looking to change careers?

At Detroit Mercy you can obtain a second bachelor's degree (BSN) or choose to move directly into the Master's Program.

Second Degree Option (SDO) Program

The Second Degree Option (SDO) option of the BSN program offers an accelerated curriculum to those who have already achieved a bachelor's degree in another major. Consisting of three and a half semesters of courses with a shortened summer break, you can earn a BSN in 16 months. The sequence of courses meets your unique needs as an accelerated student.

Master's Entry Advanced Generalist (MEAGN)

The Master's Entry Advanced Generalist option offer an accelerated curriculum to those who already have a bachelor's degree in another major. This innovative curriculum can earn you a MSN in 17 months and prepares you as a registered nurse who will provide leadership in quality and safety at the point of care in healthcare systems.

    Successful completion of the McAuley School of Nursing (MSON) undergraduate pre-licensure program at University of Detroit Mercy qualifies the graduate to take the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN®) in Michigan. Graduates who plan to practice in Michigan may find more information on licensure from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA):
