
Application to UDM PA Program
Thank you for your interest in the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) Physician Assistant Program. We are pleased to provide these application instructions for the Physician Assistant Program. Please read the admission criteria and policies; complete the online application; (Select Physician Assistant (US) or International Physician Assistant as applicable) AND download, print and complete the Physician Assistant Application package. The application package contains: an Application Instructions Summary; Physician Assistant Program Admissions essays 1-3; PA Program Applicant Evaluation Forms (print 3 copies); the Prerequisite checklist form; and the Application checklist. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the Application Package, you can download it here.
CASPA applicants; do not complete this application. Go to CASPA Applicants Link for instructions specific to CASPA applicants and the CASPA supplimental application.
Please plan to submit your e-application and mail your Physician Assistant Application packet with your resume or CV as soon as possible. Applications are forwarded to the Admission Committee as soon as they are complete. All application materials need to be postmarked by February 15. No material postmarked after the deadline date will be considered in the first round of admissions decisions. The staff and committee appreciate typewritten materials whenever possible. Illegible materials will not be considered. Please be sure your name appears on all materials you submit.
Application Statuswill be posted at the application web site if the application is received in a timely fashion. If you do not see an application status posting within four weeks of submission of your application, please notify the College of Health Professions graduate admissions office at chpgrad@udmercy.edu. (Due to the large number of applicants we are unable to answer individual requests by phone regarding the status of your application.)
Following the Admissions Committee's initial evaluation of all qualified applications, a personal interview by invitation only will be scheduled. These interviews will be scheduled AFTER the February 15 application deadline. The class will be selected from only those candidates interviewed. If you do not receive an interview you will be notified by e-mail after the application deadline. After all of the invited candidates have been interviewed, the Admissions Committee will select the matriculating class. A second round of application reviews will be done ONLY if the class is not filled in the 1st round. Only completed applications will be considered in the 2nd round. No notice of this second admissions review will be sent to applicants.
All regular mailings will be sent to the address stated on the Physician Assistant Application and e-mail communication will be sent to the address provided. Written (regular or e-mail) notification is required and should follow phone notice of an address change.
For more information and an opportunity for individual admission counseling, evening informational sessions will be held on the University of Detroit Mercy McNichols campus. These sessions are scheduled on the third (3rd) Monday evening of every month (unless a holiday). Serious applicants are encouraged to attend one of these sessions (check our website for information).
