Associate Professor and Chair, Nurse Anesthesia
Mike has directed the program since 1991. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Science from Mercy College of Detroit. His teaching/research interests include: Anesthesia Gas Machine, Applied Physics, Research Methods, Statistics, Attrition, and computer-based testing. He is active in service to his profession including as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the AANA Journal, a member of the AANA Doctoral Education Task Force, and 5 years service as on-site reviewer (currently a Chair Reviewer) for the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. He has published and spoken extensively on the anesthesia gas machine, electrical safety, and other topics. He also maintains active clinical practice. He is a doctoral student in Instructional Technology in the College of Education, Wayne State University.
