June 16, 2016

Since 2015, Clinical Associate Professor of Patient Management Melanie Mayberry has led a grant-funded program provided by the DMC Foundation, which concluded on May 31. The approximately $65,300 award supported a pilot program for integrated medical and oral health collaborations with a goal to improve patient knowledge of oral health as it relates to pregnancy.

The program facilitated an opportunity for OB-GYN residents at Wayne State University as well as Detroit Mercy dental students to practice coordinating care and make referrals. Plans are set for this program to continue in the future.
